Ingredients:

  • 1 ¼ cups (160g) all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup (150g) sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp red food coloring
  • ½ cup (120ml) buttermilk

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line cupcake pan.
  2. Sift flour, cocoa powder, and baking soda together.
  3. Cream butter and sugar, then add eggs, vanilla, and food coloring.
  4. Alternate dry ingredients with buttermilk.
  5. Divide batter and bake for 18 minutes.
